Couldn’t agree more with Jeff Blankenburg’s post on the unnecessary hostility towards Microsoft’s Window’s Phone 7 device and the smug arrogance of people towards something that could be really cool – it’s just soooo childish ;-)

I've actually played with a Windows Phone 7 (though to be honest, only for a few minutes and not actually doing real tasks), but I thought it was OK. Thing is - even though it seemed OK - I still feel like it's going to be a failure because the mobile market already has entrenched & beloved winners (iPhone/Android in the consumer space & BlackBerry in the enterprise). If Microsoft are in a race they don't seem to be trying to win.Anyway - seems like I might be right about the failure bit:http://www.infoworld.com/print/130211Am sure we'll see good reviews as well. But why didn't they just buy RIM??Craig
Man, he certainly changed his tune in the few months between articles! Who knows how it will pan out but I'm certainly glad MS isn't doing what he suggests and lying down to die while others in the industry innovate - good on them for trying something new, following some of the things that work well and getting stuck in. No point writing them off early before we've had a chance to see what they end up shipping later in the year.
